Abstract

The lower-class movement in North India during the colonial period was an important and transformative phase in which Dalits, backward castes and other disadvantaged communities fought against social injustice and caste discrimination. This movement was divided into several phases and was led by different leaders and organisations. The lower-class movement in North India during the colonial period organized the lowest sections of society and made them aware of their social, economic and political rights. These movements raised a strong voice against caste exploitation and played an important role in the freedom struggle as well as social reforms. This movement not only brought dignity to the lower classes but also laid the foundation of equality and justice in Indian society.
