Abstract

The Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS-4) serves as a crucial tool for monitoring tobacco use and control indicators among youth worldwide. This study analyzes the GYTS-4 data to identify key trends in youth tobacco use in India. By examining smoking and smokeless tobacco prevalence, cessation attempts, exposure to secondhand smoke, and the impact of media and policies, the study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of tobacco use among Indian youth. The findings underscore the importance of continued efforts in tobacco control and highlight the need for robust public health strategies to address this significant health concern.
